Coolants for Machining &
Grinding
Hamikut® Soluble Oils
- Hamikut® 9036-B is an enhanced heavy duty soluble oil lubricant for machining of ferrous and non-ferrous metals (including zinc). It provides corrosion protection, is low foaming, improves sump life and produces good micro finishes.
- Hamikut® 100 is a new technology soluble oil lubricant for metalworking applications offering excellent bio-resistance and stability in coolant systems. Low foaming and friction reducing, it is free of SARA Title III substances. Rust protection and superior performance for central systems and sumps expected to encounter a high percentage of contaminants.

CONVAL is a manufacturer
of valves for the power industry. They were have
problems with their old coolant, as some of the
operators had developed skin rashes. Harry Miller
Corp. suggested Kleerkut® 4900, a semi-synthetic
that employs new chemistry that produces a very
bio-stable coolant with zero field reports of
operator rejection due to skin irritation. Because
Kleerkut® 4900 is resistant to bacterial
attack and also does a superior job of splitting
out tramp oils, the coolant runs cleaner and
presents a more user-friendly environment for
the operators. There are no longer any skin problems,
productivity is up and the coolant continues
to perform very well.

Kleerkut® Semi-Synthetics
- Kleerkut® 4900 is a low-foaming, bio-resistant, semi-synthetic coolant not requiring SARA Title III reports. It provides rust protection in sumps and is ideal for central systems and performs a variety of machining and grinding operations on ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
- Kleerkut® 2900 is an extreme
pressure fortified microemulsion for demanding operations
on all metals. Provides superior finishes and enhanced
corrosion protection.

PERRY
TECHNOLOGY makes
gears and splines for a wide variety of industrial
customers. They were using a soluble oil coolant,
which was giving them good machining results
but was breaking down and turning sour in the
sumps. The shop had odor problems and Perry frequently
had to change out the sumps, thereby wasting
coolant. Harry Miller Corp. introduced a semi-synthetic
coolant, Kleerkut® 2900, which provides excellent
machining performance and also does a better
job rejecting tramp oils. (Tramp oils can contaminate
the coolant and are a major factor in coolants
turning rancid.) Perry was still able to sustain
tool life and surface-finishes with the Kleerkut® 2900
and their sump life improved dramatically. Because
they don’t have to change the sumps as
often, there is far less downtime with the machines,
the operators work in a cleaner environment and
more time can be spent making parts vs sump maintenance.

Hamikleer® Synthetics
- Hamikleer® X-231-LF is a general
purpose synthetic for all metals that is exceptional
for grinding applications.
- Hamikleer® 1995 is a bio-resistant synthetic machining and grinding lubricant and coolant for ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Useful in operations where foam control is essential, it provides lubrication for moderate to heavy-duty machining operations. Non-staining to non-ferrous metals, it reduces pressure friction and offers rust protection to steel. It resists bacteria, rejects contaminants and extends sump life in systems.
