Potentol® 2804 – Wetting Acid Inhibitor for Fracking Operations

Potentol® 2804 is a highly efficient (99.5% protection on most grades of steel) acid corrosion inhibitor. It is often used in fracking operations and in other acidizing operations and chemical cleaning operations in hydrochloric acid.

Potentol® 2804 offers excellent wetting properties and removes scale deposits on metal surfaces. It also enhances the surface brightness of steel, is fast rinsing and is stable in all acid cleaning solutions.

Potentol® 2804 offers excellent base metal protection and is used in chemical cleanouts of steam generation equipment such as boilers, pulp digesters (in the paper industry), and heat exchangers.

Potentol® 2803 – Organic Acid Inhibitor for Fracking Industry

Potentol® 2803 is an efficient (95% steel protection figures) organic acid inhibitor for use in acidizing operations and chemical cleaning applications in hydrochloric acid.

Potentol® 2803 is used in fracking operations that seek a more environmentally friendly acid inhibitor without heavy metals, arsenic, formaldehyde, acetylenic alcohols or flammable ingredients.

It can also be used in chemical cleanouts of steam generation equipment such as boilers, pulp digesters, and heat exchangers. Potentol® 2803 protects the tubing surfaces and welds in boiler cleaning operations, while the acid used (HCl or formic acids) removes the scale deposits targeted during the cleaning process.

Harry Miller Corp Renews ISO 9001:2008 Certification

Harry Miller Corp has attained ISO 9001:2008 certification. An official audit of the Harry Miller Corp quality program was conducted on September 11th, resulting in the auditor’s recommendation for recertification. There were no non-conformities and only one OFI (Opportunity for Improvement) listed in the official report. Harry Miller Corp has maintained this certification since 2001.

President of Harry Miller Corp, Bruce Entwisle, said “We were complimented on our website that describes our quality program, we have good internal audit planning and good management review which tracks cost as well as an excellent quality management system.”

HMC embeds the ISO program in the organization itself to provide excellent end-results to customers as well as maintenance of certification.

“We are always happy to receive OFI recommendations and, internally, we always look for ways to improve our processes and our service. This year, the auditor only offered one opportunity for improvement (OFI) — which had to do with the layout of the back of our business cards — so we are quite pleased.”

Drexel Co-Op Student Wins STLE Scholarship

Released August 12, 1013 — Anthony Rose, a Drexel Co-Op student working for Harry Miller Corporation, has been awarded a 2013 STLE Philadelphia Section scholarship.

Rose is a Sophomore currently pursuing a degree in Chemistry at Drexel University with a 3.5 GPA. He has worked in Harry Miller Corp’s Quality Control Laboratory under the guidance of Simi John, QC Coordinator, at Harry Miller Corporation since April 2013.

While at Harry Miller Corp, Anthony has enjoyed the opportunity to expand his laboratory skills and be involved in the quality processes all Harry Miller products undergo. Rose was the only undergraduate student to receive the award. Out of the four recipients, the other three were PhD candidates.

Rose said, he “feels incredibly honored to be considered for the award” and “thankful for the generous gift and all the work that goes behind the STLE scholarship program.” He will conclude his co-op experience with Harry Miller next month.

The STLE is a professional society focused on advancing the science of tribology and the practice of lubrication engineering. Scholarships are given to undergraduate and graduate students pursuing degrees in the Physical Sciences, Engineering, Tribology, Math or similar studies with a GPA of 3.0 or above. Harry Miller Corporation has been a longtime supporter of STLE and the Scholarship program. The company has supported Drexel’s Co-Op Program since 2004 and has employed 14 Co-Op students since that time. Harry Miller Corp. also sponsors the STLE golf outing, sends employees to STLE technical sessions and education courses.

Aerokut® 500-M – Heavy Duty Cutting Oil

Aerokut® 500-M is a viscous petroleum-based cutting oil specifically compounded for medium to heavy-duty applications. Aerokut® 500-M is fortified with chlorinated and sulfurized extreme pressure additives as well as a special high-performance “moly” lubricant to provide long tool life and good finishes. The high degree of chlorination provides Aerokut® 500-M with the extreme pressure lubrication necessary for use on stainless steel, titanium, and other hard alloys where high temperatures are encountered.

Aerokut® 25 Medium Viscosity Straight Oil

Aerokut® 25 is a petroleum-based lubricating oil specially compounded for use as both an internal lubricant for screw machines and as the machining lubricant. Aerokut® 25 is fortified with special sulfurized extreme pressure additives and natural fats designed to provide both high and low temperature extreme pressure lubrication. Aeokut® 25 is ideal in machines which suffer from excessive cross-contamination which can reduce machine efficiency.

Hamidraw® 1945-300 Heavy Duty Stamping and Drawing Lubricant

Hamidraw® 1945-300 is a heavy-duty stamping, blanking, and drawing lubricant for all metals. Hamidraw® 1945-300 has a viscosity of SUS 300 at 100 F. It contains extreme pressure additives to assist in difficult stamping application. 

Aerokut® 77 – Cutting Oil and Screw Machine Lubricant

Aerokut® 77 is a petroleum-based cutting oil specially compounded for use as both an internal lubricant for screw machines and as the machining lubricant.
