Hamico® 8936 – Rinse Aid

Hamico® 8936 Rinse Aid is an additive for rinse systems after pickling steel using hydrochloric or sulfuric acids. Hamico® 8936 Rinse Aid prevents the formation of iron hydroxide slimes which typically occur in rinse tanks and prevents surface discoloration on steel exiting the bath. Hamico® 8936 Rinse Aid complexes ferrous iron, thus preventing it from re-depositing.

Hamico® 8936 Rinse Aid buffers the rinse water against sudden drops in pH, due to acid carryover from pickling tanks and protects from flash rusting after rinse operations. It may be used in hot or cold baths.

Hamico® 8936 Rinse Aid is easy to handle and is not corrosive to the skin.

Hamico® 8934 – Rinse Aid

Hamico® 8934 Rinse Aid is a stain preventing additive for rinse systems for use after hydrochloric or sulfuric acid pickling operations. It is an acidic product possessing corrosion protection and wetting. It is designed to eliminate the brown or reddish stains often experienced on steel exiting a continuous pickler. It eliminates the formation of iron hydroxide slimes which accumulate in rinse tanks as a result of acid bath carryover. Hamico® 8934 Rinse Aid is compatible with waste treatment processes where removal of metals like iron, copper, zinc, and chromium must be accomplished to meet limits for effluents.

This product prevents carryover products from depositing on the immersed steel surface and protects the rinsed surface before drying occurs. Hamico® 8934 Rinse Aid is low-foaming to make water treatment and disposal easier and employs a tracer to make it easy to make concentration determinations using a test kit.

Hamico® 178

Hamico® 178 is a liquid rust remover designed to dissolve rust on contact. Hamico® 178 is used full strength and can be applied by brushing or dipping or spray application with an airless sprayer. The time required for rust removal is dependent upon the degree of rust present. Blush rust is removed in a few minutes, whereas, heavy rust will require longer times and, perhaps, repeated rinsing and application. Removal of Hamico® 178 is easily accomplished by a water rinse.

Hamico® 8906-WT – Rinse Aid

Hamico® 8906-WT Rinse Aid is a stain preventing additive for rinse systems following hydrochloric or sulfuric acid pickling operations.

Hamico 8906-WT Rinse Aid

Harry Miller Corporation has been inventing solutions for the steel industry for almost 70 years. One of the most inventive products in widespread use today throughout the world, is Hamico 8906-WT.

Hamico 8906-WT is an additive that is a combination of organic acids, which is metered into the last tub of the rinse section in a continuous pickling line. The proper use of this additive results in the elimination of rejects due to stain, at a cost of $0.11 – $0.20 per ton of steel, depending upon the flow rate of the incoming rinse water. Secondary benefits include a more complete rinsing of the steel strip prior to drying, as well as the elimination of rinse tub gels caused by the use of antiquated alkaline neutralizers.

The pictures seen below represent 5 minute line stops, under comparable conditions. The picture on the left shows the strip coming from the last rinse section in a “push-pull” pickling line after having been exposed to Hamico 8906-WT. The picture on the right shows the equivalent area of strip after having been exposed to a competitive product for the same length of time. As bad as the strip looks in the second picture, imagine what it would look like with no rinse additive!

Can you really afford to run your line without the use of an effective rinse additive like Hamico 8906-WT?

Hamico® Neutralizer 809-L

Hamico® Neutralizer 809-L is a combination of liquid alkalis and surface-active (wetting) agents designed specifically for neutralizing acidic residues from ferrous metals after pickling operations.

Hamico® EDM – EDM Oil

Hamico® EDM is a light colored, transparent, odorless oil for use as the dielectric fluid in EDM (electric discharge machining) operations. It is an extraordinarily pure lubricant with many performance benefits which make it a clear choice as a superior EDM fluid. These benefits include: exceptionally high dielectric strength and clarity, extremely low toxicity, low volatility, outstanding oxidative and thermal stability, low aromatic content, and excellent separation from water.

Hamico® 8928 – pH Conditioner

Hamico® 8928 is an additive for metalworking fluids to improve effectiveness of the biocides in the fluid and to raise and stabilize pH. It possesses reserve alkalinity and is bio-resistant in nature. It is effective with synthetic, semi-synthetic, or soluble oils. It effectively neutralizes any acidic components in a solution and maintains fluid performance and longevity. It protects against production of acidic by products in the system through bioresistant properties.

Hamico® 1003 – Lubricating Oil

Hamico® 1003 is a light colored, transparent, odorless lubricating oil for machinery and equipment requiring an extremely clean condition with a light oil. It can be used in many applications where light lubrication is needed, e.g., forming, bending, stamping, straightening. It can be used on all metals as received, by pumping, dip, spray or wipe.

Hamico® 863-EP

Hamico® 863-EP Base is normally used as received, but can be diluted with oil, solvents, or water, depending on the operation. It may be applied by dipping, spray, or brushing. It is a combination of extreme pressure lubricants. It is used either neat or with oil. It is used primarily for tapping operations on steel. It will not corrode steel or aluminum on contact, but will stain brass and copper.
